Overview

top7pets.au ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what happens to information when you visit the site.

Information We Collect

top7pets.au is a static website. You do not need an account, and nothing on the site asks for personal information except the optional newsletter form. The following is collected, directly or by the services we rely on:

  • Newsletter email address:only if you subscribe. It is stored in Cloudflare's key-value storage and used to send the weekly deals email through Brevo. Every email carries an unsubscribe link.
  • Affiliate click counts: when you click a link to Amazon, the site records which product was clicked and from which page, with no name, email or other identifier, so we can see which picks readers find useful.
  • Hosting and analytics: the site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps server logs, and uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or fingerprinting.
  • Web fonts:fonts load from Google Fonts, which may record your IP address and browser details under Google's privacy policy.
  • Amazon cookies: Amazon may place cookies when you open a product page through one of our links, to attribute the referral.

Cookies and Local Storage

  • Cookie consent preference:your choice on the consent banner is kept in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again.
  • Calculator inputs: the sizing tools remember your last inputs in local storage on your own device. Nothing is sent to us.
  • Amazon affiliate cookies:governed by Amazon's privacy policy. Declining cookies on our banner does not stop the site working; it means affiliate tracking may not function.

How We Use Information

Newsletter addresses are used only to send the newsletter. Click counts and page-view counts are used in aggregate to decide what to improve. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:

  • Access any personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of that information
  • Lodge a complaint about how we handle your information

The only personal information we hold directly is a newsletter address. Email us and it will be removed. For information held by the third parties above, their privacy policies explain how to exercise your rights.
